APACHE INDIAN
Apache Indian was born and raised in Birmingham UK and is known for his unique blend of Urban Asian & Reggae sounds. He released his first song himself ‘Movie Over India’ in 1989, which went to Number 1 in the National Reggae & Asian Charts in the UK. He was then signed to the leading Reggae Label Jet Star Records based in London in 1990. He went on to record ‘Chokthere’ & ‘Don Raja’ both topped the Charts in 1991. Apache then signed to Bob Marley’s Label, Island Records (Universal) in 1992 and went out to Kingston, Jamaica to work on his debut Album at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Studio’s with Sly & Robbie.
Apache’s first Album on Island Records ‘No Reservations’ was Released in 1992. The first single ‘Arranged Marriage’ went to Number 16 in the National British Charts. Apache was the first British Asian Artist to perform on ‘Top of the Pops’, ‘The Late Show with Jools Holland’, ‘Blue Peter’, ‘The Word’ & many more. This was the first time Asian Urban Music and the Bhangra sound hit the mainstream charts!
Apache became known as the first Asian Pop Artist in the UK & Internationally and has now Released 7 Albums, dozens of singles and has featured on various collabs with a range of Artists. He has sold over 10 million Albums, has achieved 7 top forty UK Chart Hits, 4 Brit Award Nominations,
The Mercury Music Prize, The Ivor Norvello Award & many other Awards from the Mainstream, Asian & Reggae Music Industries from around the Globe.
Apache was the first Asian DJ to have his own show on BBC Radio 1 in 1995, he also Presented ‘Reggae Sound System’ for MTV from Jamaica, ‘Apache goes Indian’ for Channel 4 from India & ‘Soul Music’ for Charlton TV/ITV.
Apache’s Big Hit Song ‘Boomshackalak’ has topped the Charts across the World and has been featured in 7 Hollywood Movies including ‘Dumb & Dumber 1 & 2’, ‘Scooby Doo 2’ – Monsters Unleashed & ‘Bioderm’. Apache has also had songs featured in Bollywood Movies including ‘Love Birds’, ‘Dil Apna Punjabi’, South Indian Movie ‘Iddarammayiliatho’ & more. ‘Boomshackalak’ has now been featured in over 200 TV commercials for brands such as McDonalds, Wrangler Jeans, Colgate & Lynx with an advert featuring Jennifer Anniston & recently again with Boxing Legend Anthony Joshua in 2021.
Apache has toured the World over 8 times performing in major venues & cities all over the Globe from UK to Japan, USA, Canada, Trinidad, Jamaica, across Europe, India, Pakistan, Asia, Australia & Africa. Apache celebrates over 30 years in the music business, his music has crossed over, broken down barriers and bought people together.

Apache Indian was recently honoured by the Queen of England with a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to Music & the Youth and for starting a new genre of Music known today as the Asian Urban Sound.
Apache runs his own Music Academy called Apache Indian Music Academy - AIM Music Academy helping young people with music and life skills based at South & City College in Birmingham.
Apache is currently in talks about making a movie about his life & career.
